Treasure Tuesday's Fabulous Thrift Shop Find

Did my daily stop by one of my favorite local thrift shops near where I have my morning cup, ok... cups of coffee.  It's a cute little charity store in an upscale community.  Upscale community usually equals upscale donations.

I spotted this majolica plate at the same time as another person, luckily I was closer and snatched it of the shelf her. (leave excessive politeness and chivalry at the door when thrift shopping, it's a blood sport.)

The plate caught my eye because a very wealthy friend has a collection of things that appear to be by the same designer.  Luckily the plate was signed on the back so I was able to do a quick search on my phone.  I noticed the lady following me around the store.  She was probably hoping I'd change my mind and set the piece down, or worse... snatch it if I did set it down to look at something else.  Yes, thrifting can get rough and tumble.  I found the same plate by Alvaro Jose on eBay for $425, and another 1st dibbs for $4,500, so figured I couldn't go wrong for the $19 asking price.

I'm still researching the plate and once I have a better idea of the value I'll be selling it and of course will update you with the sale price.
