Treasure Tuesday's Fabulous Thrift Shop Find.
Stopped by one of my favorite charity resale shops in Glendale, California last week and spotted this decanter on a bookcase inside the front door. I recognized the shape of the stopper as Baccarat crystal. Of course when I flipped the piece over there smack dab in the center of the bottom was the round Baccarat France acid stamp. At an asking price of $15, I immediately walked to the counter and purchased it.
Once in the car, I took a look at Baccarat decanters online and found that the retail price for the pattern Harmonie was $1,315. I was pleasantly surprised, as I expected the retail price to be in the $800 range.
Last Tuesday's Treasure was a Baccarat crystal ice bucket. It's interesting in thrifting that sometimes you'll have runs in finding a few items of the same brand. Maybe because we pay more attention to categories of merchandise where we've recently found a treasure.
