Treasure Tuesday Thrift Shop Find.
I discovered today's treasure just yesterday at a charity thrift shop in La Canada, CA. Since this shop is close to where I get coffee in the morning, I try to swing through several times a week
Discovered this 1960's Murano glass, geode bowl sitting on a shelf behind some other items. I knew what it was immediately. When I saw it marked as a paperweight with the bargain price of $3, how could I not take it home?
Murano glass Geode bowls earn the name "geodes" due to their similarity to geodes which are rocks or stones that have been sliced neatly in two. Geode bowls have a flat, wide rim and consist of two or more layers and colors of glass.
Here it is in its new spot at my house. Since it only cost $3, there shouldn't be any guilt associated with using it as a soap dish. Making the mundane fabulous is where the 'luxury' in luxury thrifting comes into play.
I could't find an exact match for sale on line, but did find these similar bowls.
