Update... Treasure Tuesday's Fabulous Find
Post Update: The buffet was finally delivered. I drilled a hole for wires in the back which too 10 minute, a drill, and a special hole bit. Loving it.
Today's find is an Empire-style, fruitwood buffet by the premier American furniture company Baker. I just won this at an online estate sale auction last night for $387. Found one on an upscale vintage furniture website for $2,475. New, this piece would have been in excess of $10,000.
Thought it's classified as a dining room buffet it would work well in an entry, living room, etc. I'm going to use it under my great-room television. I can store the cable box, DVD, and other entertainment related things inside. You can never have enough storage.
Tip: When bidding at online auctions such as Everything But The House, search for local sales. Large, expensive-to-ship items often sell for reasonable prices because the cost of shipping is frequently more expensive than the item's sale price.
